This is the first set of photos I'm taking for the New History Worksop project. I decided to head to Tesco on Gateford Road and get a few snaps while the store was shut on New Year's Day. It's good to get some shots before the car park gets some work done. It was a crazy walk though because even though the shop was shut, I lost count at the amount of people and cars that came along to do some shopping. My advice to Tesco is to close Boxing Day, open on the 1st of January. I think people bought more booze than anything and realised they couldn't use it to make a cup of tea or coffee so went for some milk.
I took a few photos at the back of the store. Very good for the train spotters out there. Tesco opened back in 1983 and I was there on the grand opening with my grandma. Will make a video talking about what I can remember. I have clear memories which is surprising really, I was only 6 years old. Love the shop, still miss shopping at like 3am though.
